FAQs
What happens in the first counselling session?
You don’t need to prepare anything, but it may be helpful for you to reflect before hand on what is most important for you, and anything you’d like me to know. I will do a general background assessment, then we’ll talk in more depth about what’s brought you to therapy and what you’d like to get from it - and we’ll take it from there.
Do you offer online counselling?
Yes I offer online therapy sessions throughout the UK via a secure video platform, making professional counselling accessible wherever you are.
Will you take notes during therapy?
I may occasionally make brief notes during sessions. I also keep clinical notes which are stored securely in line with GDPR law. Please see my Privacy Policy for more details
What is your cancellation policy?
Genuine emergencies cannot be avoided in which case I will do my best to reschedule. However, I do ask for at least 72 hours’ notice so cancellations after this period may still be charged at the full rate.
Are counselling sessions confidential?
Confidentiality is a crucial part of the work, and I abide by the BACP’s strict ethical guidelines to protect your privacy. There are exceptions which I will go through during our first session together.
How long will I need counselling or therapy?
It depends on your goals and what’s going on for you. I offer both short and longer-term work; we can agree on this together. We will also have regular reviews to discuss how you think things are going.
How do I book a counselling session in SE25?
Initially you can use the contact form to book a free, 15 minute informal chat to see if we’re a good fit. If you decide to go ahead payment is made via BACS and is taken prior to each session.
